Development projects inspected by USAID and EU representatives in Georgia

Representatives of USAID and the European Union are visiting Georgia. They are inspecting the progress of the country's ongoing development projects. The officials   visited the western and central parts of Georgia to assess the situation.

Tbilisi: Representatives of USAID and the European Union are visiting Georgia. They are inspecting the progress of the country’s ongoing development projects. The officials   visited the western and central parts of Georgia to assess the situation.

The delegation of the representative visiting Georgia includes Juniper Neill, the United States Agency for International Development Georgia Acting Mission Director  and Nicholas Cendrowicz  the European Union Head of Cooperation. They will also visit the Shida Kartli and western Imereti regions along with other areas.

As per the information available  the visiting delegation meets many representatives of Georgia  which includes women entrepreneurs from conflict-affected villages. The others who met with the visiting delegation includes the blueberry farmers, local journalists  as well as civil society leaders  and youth members of different organizations as well

The benefits of  Euro-Atlantic integration were also discussed deeply during the meeting of both sides. It is worth mentioning that USAID has been supporting Georgia since its independence. Moreover the USAID agency is also working to develop and grow democratic values among Georgian citizens.

The member of the delegation  Neill, while commenting on the visit added that it was a wonderful experience to visit Imereti and Shida Kartli. We had the opportunity to interact with the youth and encouraged them to participate in USAID assistance activities   along with many other important issues

 

It is worth noting that the EU is supporting Georgian integration in the European Union. Another member of the delegation  Cendrowicz  added “ It was a fruitful trip as we met with various groups  and it was wonderful to see how these projects have been supporting the young members.

 

Notably  the joint efforts by all stakeholders are there to support Georgia’s flourishing as a prosperous, democratic  and inclusive nation.  The European Union will also support the country’s citizens, businesses, and civil society so that European Integration can happen smoothly in the near future. The Republic of Georgia was granted the status of Candidate country by the European Council last December.
