Roseau, Dominica: The Minister for Public Works, Public Utilities of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Fidel Grant, showered praises over the visionary governance of the Dominica Labour Party, led by the Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, over the progressive construction of the International Airport in the country. As Fidel Grant commended the Skerrit-led government, he stated that this development is attributed to the perseverance and consistent efforts of PM Roosevelt Skerrit.
Fidel Grant also took a dig at the previous governments of Dominica, who had merely promised the Dominican citizens the International Airport, only on paper, but the practical reality of those promises remained far out of sight in the last 50 years.Â
However, the citizens of Dominica have received a major breakthrough with the Dominica Labour Party in power, which has sincerely worked towards the fulfilment of all the promises it has made so far.
As Grant recounted, over 25 million dollars have been paid out for the compensation and successful relocation of the affected residents. The farmers have been provided land and paid crop compensation, with the active functioning of the laboratory. Â
Also, the engagement of youth in productive activities has led to an increase in economic activity in the Wesley constituency.
At the same time, Fidel Grant briefed about the ongoing works as she shared the on-site images of the Eden Estate. The Public Works Minister also highlighted the creation of opportunities for the youth of Dominica with the development of this high-scale project and urged the youth to be prepared as the opportunities arise in the constituency.
Fidel Grant thanked the Dominican Prime Minister for executing the venture and expressed hope for similar kind of developments for the country in the upcoming times as well.
