Roseau, Dominica: The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica and the Government of Republic of Gabon have established the diplomatic relations between the nations. With this initiative, the countries will be strengthening their international ties and expansion of cooperation on the economic as well as cultural aspects.
As the Foreign Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica, Vince Henderson noted, Dominica and Gabon look forward to signing of a Visa waiver agreement as well, which would be signed in September.
Following the establishment of the diplomatic relations, the countries also commit to collaborate on sectors of economic significance , which includes tourism, agriculture. While the countries move ahead with a vision of sustainable development, Dominica and Gabon can also expand cooperation in the field of development of renewable sources of energy.
In addition to this,both the countries can facilitate the technological expertise and skill, for an enhanced and mutually beneficial partnership. At the same time, the Gabonese Deputy Foreign Minister, Hermann Immogault stated that the establishment of diplomatic ties between the countries is the beginning of a long and fruitful partnership.
The countries also have an opportunity to knit closer relations in terms of culture, heritage and the ethnicity, with the closer than ever people-to-people relations between the ountries.
The Gabonese Deputy Foreign Minister also added that both countries have common aspirations , which is another factor that adds strength to these relations. The countries have the opportunity to embark on the fulfillment of these aspirations, which in future, may lead to extended collaboration.
