State Commissioner discuss development plans for Lower Kartli region

State Commissioner of Lower Kartli, Giorgi Dokhturishvili, held a working meeting with the mayors of the municipalities in the region on Monday to discuss the achievements and challenges of the past year and the priorities and goals for the following year.

Southern Administration, January 16, 2024: The State Commissioner of Lower Kartli, Giorgi Dokhturishvili, held a working meeting with the mayors of the municipalities in the region on Monday to discuss the achievements and challenges of the past year and the priorities and goals for the following year.

The meeting, which took place at the Southern Administration building, covered various topics on the agenda, such as agriculture, infrastructure, education, health, social welfare, and tourism. The participants praised the progress made in 2023, marked by the implementation of several projects that improved the living standards and economic opportunities of the local population.

The meeting also focused on the priority infrastructure projects that are planned to be carried out in 2024, such as the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, water supply systems, schools, and clinics. 

The mayors expressed their needs and challenges and proposed solutions to address them. The State Commissioner assured them of his support and cooperation and urged them to work together for the development of the region.

The meeting was attended by the mayors of Gardabani, Dmanisi, Tsalka, Bolnisi, and Marneuli municipalities, the deputy mayor of Tetritsqaro municipality, and the deputies of the State Commissioner in Lower Kartli: Nika Kobakhidze and Kakha Koberidze.

Kvemo Kartli, or “Lower Kartli“, is a historical province and current administrative region in southeastern Georgia. The city of Rustavi is the regional capital.
