Mayor Roland Beridze reviews tenders for 2024

The Mayor of the Kedi municipality, Roland Beridze, met with the procurement tender commission on Thursday to discuss the status and plans of various regional development projects.

Kedi, Georgia: The Mayor of the Kedi municipality, Roland Beridze met with the procurement tender commission on Thursday to discuss the status and plans of various regional development projects.

According to the Mayor’s office, the meeting covered the tenders announced and the works to be implemented this year. Some of the key projects include:

  • The construction of squares, sports grounds, anti-landing measures, retaining walls, main water supply and supply reservoir arrangement works. These projects are currently in contract preparation and are expected to start soon.
  • The construction of typical concrete houses, fencing and retaining walls. These projects are undergoing selection evaluation and will be awarded to qualified bidders.
  • The rehabilitation of mini sports grounds, square arrangement and internal rural roads. These projects have been recently announced and are open for bidding.

The Mayor expressed his satisfaction with the work done by the procurement tender commission and urged them to ensure transparency and efficiency in the tender process. He also emphasized the importance of these projects for improving the municipality’s quality of life and infrastructure.

The Procurement Tender Commission is a body responsible for overseeing the public procurement activities of the municipality. It consists of representatives from various departments and sectors, such as finance, engineering, legal, social, and environmental. 

The commission follows the Procurement System of India, which enables tenderers to download the tender schedule free of cost and submit the bids online through the portal.

Kedi Municipality

The Kedi municipality is located in the Ajara region of Georgia, in the southwestern part of the country. It has a population of about 16,000 and an area of 452 sq. km. The municipality is known for its unique grape varieties and the enticing aroma of its wines, which are a must-try during your visit. 

The municipality is named after Roland Beridze, the current Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of South Africa. He was previously the Deputy Director of the American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Ambassador of Georgia to the State of Kuwait.
