Tea Akhvlediani meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Ian Borg

Tbilisi, Georgia: The Georgian Minister of State Tea Akhvlediani held a working dinner meeting with the acting Chairman of EUTO, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and European Affairs of Malta, Dr Ian Borg.

The Minister of State expressed gratitude to the Chairman of EUTO for his unwavering support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in internationally recognized borders. She also underscored the shared commitment to peace, with EUTO’s active involvement in the peaceful resolution of the conflict, including through co-chairing the Geneva international negotiations.

Tea Akhvlediani, with a sense of importance, introduced to the foreign diplomat the crucial priorities, goals, and tasks of the State Minister’s apparatus regarding reconciliation and inclusion, as well as civil equality and integration policy.

The meeting discussed the human rights and humanitarian situation in the occupied regions, reconciliation and inclusion policies, and the peace initiative’s progress, ‘A step towards a better future.’ This initiative has future plans to improve the socio-economic conditions of the conflict-affected populations and artificially divided societies. Deepening cooperation and trust restoration based on the mutual interests of the two is a goal set by this initiative.

The meeting resulted in the sides agreeing to continue close cooperation, particularly in the areas of human rights, humanitarian aid, and socio-economic development in the conflict-affected regions.

 Tea Akhvlediani 

Georgian politician Tea Akhvlediani was born on 21 January 1975 in Tbilisi, Georgia. She is a Georgian diplomat politician. She is the current State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality of Georgia since 6 August 2020. She was ambassador of Georgia to Estonia from 2014 to 2019.
