Georgia: The vice president of ATEA and Mayor of Dusheti Municipality, Matsatsatso Narimanidze, attended the seminar held by the National Association of Local Self-Governments of Georgia.

The National Association of Local Self-Governments of Georgia continues a series of trainings for representatives of member municipalities. These trainings aim to promote upskilling and provide practical knowledge that can be applied to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of local governance.

The association organized a seminar on “Spatial and Urban Planning” in Tbilisi from June 3 to 6. Representatives of Dusheti, Tianeti, Mtskheti, Gori, Tetritskaro, Borjomi, and Akhaltsikhi municipalities took part.

Before the start of the training, Nino Rukhadze, the executive director of ATEA, and his deputy, Lasha Archvadze, addressed the audience with a welcome speech.

The trainings organized by the ATEA are meticulously planned, taking into account the specific demands of the civil servants and the unique needs of their businesses. This tailored approach makes the audience feel valued and considered.

According to their statement, ATEA’s weekly online consultancy service, which aims to support municipalities in implementing their own and delegated powers for local governments, has been successfully operating for the fourth month.

The training was led by Gvantsa Japaridze, a seasoned urban planner and representative of the Agency for Space and Urban Development. She introduced the audience in detail to the structure of spatial and urban planning plans, stages, and administrative production procedures for issuing building permits.

The seminar fostered a dynamic discussion, allowing the attendees to actively participate and share their perspectives on the challenges in their municipalities. This interactive approach made the audience feel engaged and involved in the learning process.
