Saferika Festival was held with support of  Georgian Wine Agency in USA

The festival, namely “Saferika,” was held in the United States of America with the active support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia. This was the third Saferika festival held in the USA with the support of the Georgian wine agency.

This two-day “Saferika” festival was held in the Finger Lakes region of New York state in the USA. On this occasion, the Georgians and companies from the USA presented the Saferavi wines. It is to be added that for the last 60 years in the Finger Lakes region of New York state  local wine producers have been growing the grapes of the Saferavi and Rkatsiteli varieties. These varieties of grapes are used to produce world-class Georgian wines.

Many people attended the festival, including the “Saferika” wine experts  representatives of the wine industry, the HoReCa sector, media representatives, and wine consumers.  The guests and wine lovers had the opportunity to sample different varieties of Georgian wine. They also learned about Georgian cuisine and Saferavi and Georgian grape varieties in general. The organizers   provided information about Georgia’s 8 thousand-year-old history and culture and Georgian winemaking.

 

At the same time  a group of importers, distributors, and sommeliers from different countries also attended the event. They attended the event under the organization of the American company Colangelo&Partners, the contractor of the National Wine Agency. Marion Hellui  the manager of the Georgian wine promotion campaign of Colangelo&Partners  held a presentation on Georgian wine culture and modern industry.

Notbaly the “Saferika” organization was founded in 2022 in the USA with a special objective  to promote Georgian grape varieties  including Saferavi and Georgian wine varieties  throughout the different parts of the USA. The festival “Saferikats” was held for the first time in 2022, and this is the third time that the festival has been organized as well.

According to experts  the  United States of America is a potential strategic market for Georgian wine.
