Giorgi Amilakhvar the Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, together with First Deputy Alexander Tsuladze, hosted Harvard University students who are students of the Georgian program of Davis Center at the university.
This important meeting was attended by Steven Jones, head of the Georgian Program at Harvard University Davis Center. It is worth mentioning that at the meeting with students, Minister Giorgi Amilakhvar spoke about challenges in the system and solutions to them and provided information to young people about reforms at all three levels of education which are being implemented in the country.
It is worth mentioning that the minister, Giorgi Amilakhvar, also paid attention to the importance of the Georgian program at the Davis Center of Harvard University. According to him, the ministry will be actively involved in the process of working on future projects to make joint programs more effective in planning and implementation.
It is to be noted that the meeting was held in question-answer mode and students had the opportunity to get information personally from the Minister about their interesting issues.
At the meeting the Harvard University students thanked Giorgi Amilakhvar for an interesting meeting. On his part, the head of the Georgian program at the Davis Center noted that the support of the Georgian government and the willingness to deepen cooperation with the ministry is particularly important in developing the Georgian program at the Davis Center at Harvard University.
It is noteworthy that the Harvard University Davis Center organised the students’ two-week visit to Georgia for the promotion of a joint initiative.
It is important to know that for the first time in the history of the United States, from February 2022, the Georgian program has been launched at the Davis Center of Harvard University.
This is a significant Course that gave a unique opportunity to Harvard University students to learn Georgian history, art and culture. The purpose of the course is to stimulate research interest in Georgia among American students and raise awareness about the importance of Georgia by offering a diverse portfolio of academic and cultural events.
