Giorgi Amilakhvar attends award ceremony

Giorgi Amilakhvar, the Georgian Minister of Education and Science, attended the award distribution ceremony. This was held to confer the National Award for Professional Education.

Tbilisi: Giorgi Amilakhvar, the Georgian Minister of Education and Science, attended the award distribution ceremony. This was held to confer the National Award for Professional Education.                                                                                                                 

Giorgi Amilakhvar Also delivered an address on the occassion and emphasized the importance of holding a competition in terms of the promotion of vocational education, thanked the organizers of the event for their cooperation and personally congratulated the winners on their success.

Giorgi Amilakhvari also said “For our government, one of the most important, priority directions is vocational education and its further development, popularisation and support.” This is the purpose of the National Award for Vocational Education, which we will present it every year to the best student, best teacher, best program and business partner.

This competition is a prime example that everyone has the opportunity to receive quality education and employment. Today, a 63-year-old person received the title of the best student, and this once again emphasizes that professional education has no age.

I welcome the implementation of such initiatives. The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth will further support such events and will continue to promote the development of professional education in the future.

It is noteworthy that the winners of the 2023 competition were selected in four competition categories:

“Student of the Year of Vocational Education is Zebur Bolkvadze, a teacher of the Beekeeping Program of the College “Blexi”, has been named as the teacher of the Year, Vlada Khimenko, College “Mermisi”, with the program – Sewing Production, was named as Professional Education Program of the Year, and best Professional Education Business Partner of the Year Award Comp Ania was handed over to “BK Construction”.

 It is to be specifically mentioned that within the framework of the event as well in addition to the main competition categories, the Parliament of Georgia, the Agency of Professional Skills and the Embassy of Israel awarded special prizes to the finalists.

US Ambassador to Georgia Robin L. took part in the awards ceremony. Danigan, Israeli Ambassador Hadas Meitsadi, First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, Member of the Committee for Education, Science and Youth Affairs Mariam Lashkh and Head of the Professional Skills Agency Tamar Kitiashvili were also present.

The event was also attended by representatives of executive and legislative authorities, Millennium Foundation, Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation, international donor organizations, professional education sector and business.
