The Prime Minister, the Minister, and the students discussed the criteria for selecting graduates, assessment methods, and other essential details within the internship program and introduced students to a new vision of youth policy development.

After the presentation, the meeting was held in question-and-answer mode, and students were allowed to share their opinions about the graduate internship program and learn about interesting, actual issues from the Prime Minister and the education Minister.

The Georgian government prioritizes young people’s participation in making important decisions so that new large-scale initiatives can be implemented with their involvement. Regular meetings with students serve the right purpose.

Students of Kutaisi International University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Gori State University, Samtske-Javakheti State University and Telavi State University participated in the meeting held in Kutaisi. A similar meeting has been held with the students of existing state universities in Tbilisi. Shortly, it will be held with students of private higher education institutions.

It is noteworthy that in the first year since the start of the state internship program, students will be provided with 4-month paid internships in all public institutions, which are subject to internship regulations. In particular, more than 3,000 governmental agencies will receive paid internships in their desired region from September 2024.

Fourth-year students of higher educational institutions authorized in Georgia can participate in the program. The selection of participants will start in July 2024. The vacancies, requirements, and criteria will be published publicly, and then the application process will begin.
