International Staff Week takes place at Caucasus University

Tbilisi, Georgia: International Week took place at Caucasus University (CU) with the participation of partner universities. The official opening event of International Staff Week was held at Caucasus University on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Caucasus University is hosting more than 20 academic and administrative personnel from 15 European Partner Universities as part of International Staff Week.

The event was opened with speeches by Kakha Shengelia, the president of Caucasus University, and Irena Melua, the Vice President of Internationalization. 

During the staff week, participants had the unique opportunity to explore Georgian culture and history. The language of the staff week was English.

Furthermore, Ketevan Karbaia, the director of the International Relations Department, provided the participants with detailed information about the university’s mission, internationalization policy, and international relations, as well as the services available at the university and current study programs.

It should be noted that the international week implemented by the Caucasus University includes sessions on innovation and entrepreneurship, internationalization in the higher education sector, international projects, joint opportunities, and study abroad, as well as lecture hours with relevant faculty and professors from partner universities.

On May 10, 2024, an educational exhibition was organized with the participation of partner universities in the program. University representatives had the opportunity to present Georgian and international students with their higher education and programs, as well as their country and culture.

It should be noted that the educational exhibition was quite interactive, with the participation of up to 100 university students as well as interested academic and administrative staff.

Caucasus University

Caucasus University is a private university in Tbilisi, Georgia. The university was established in 2004. It is the successor to the Caucasus School of Business. It was founded in 1998 in partnership with Georgia State University, Atlanta, U.S., during Georgia’s transitional period from a planned to a free market economy.
