The Employers’ Forum is an annual event that allows maritime schools and maritime organizations to share news and needs and talk about challenges. This year, about 50 organizations participated, including representatives of ports, crewing, hotel, logistics, tourism, banking, insurance and construction companies.
Students and alumni of the Naval Academy were given the opportunity to meet organizations of interest to them in one place, to be interviewed and even to be employed in the desired company.
The event was opened by the Rector of the Batumi State Maritime Academy, Murtaz Devadze, after which the guests were greeted and addressed by the Director of the Maritime Transport Agency, Tamar Ioseliani, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara Maia Khajishvili and the Chairman of Adjara AR Tourismimatur.
“This is a good opportunity to share news and challenges and understand the needs of employers to ensure that our graduates are employed with dignity. It should be noted that the maritime administration, industry and maritime institutions are in close contact, communicating in order to take into account their views and needs at the level of training as well as certification and training. “It should be noted that the employment rate of sailors has increased significantly,” – said Tamar Ioseliani.
Moreover, the head of the Maritime Transport Agency thanked the Government of Adjara and the Minister of Education Maia Khajishvili, with whose support large-scale infrastructure projects were implemented, and the quality of training and practical training was significantly improved.
Presentations of the Batumi and Poti branches of the Maritime Academy, the Maritime Transport Agency and the Adjara Employment Agency were presented at the event; An open-exhibition space was set up where employers have the opportunity to talk to Marine Academy students and alumni and offer them active vacancies.
