Batumi: The city of Batumi hosted the first international conference of guides. This was held to highlight the roles of guides in the tourism industry.
Many issues of importance were discussed on this occasion. Tourism experts talked about the importance of the guide profession and international experience.
They discussed the following topics:
- The role of a guide in the popularization of a tourist spot
- Guide as tourist spot ambassador
- Global tourism and guide profession
- Unique experience, modern technologies, and challenges
- Tourism and museums, Museum as a repository of cultural heritage and history.
The international conference of guides has been organized by the Adjara Tourism Department. The conference is attended by the World Federation of Tourist Guides Associations, the Portuguese Association of Tour Guides and Tour Managers, leaders of Georgian and Adjara Guides Associations, and experts in the fields of gastronomy, wine, and tourism.
The hall for the meeting was filled with the attendees. There was also a presentation held for the attendees. At the same time, the key speakers shared their views during a panel discussion held on the sidelines of the conference on guides.
It was also to be added that the key speakers while addressing the participants said that this is a time to produce professional and expert tourism guides for the industry. They also highlighted the importance of the tourism industry for the economy of any country.
To boost the tourism industry it is important to train a workforce who can play a significant role in promoting the tourism industry as well.
