Rustaveli National Theater celebrates 55th anniversary of Ia Ninidze

The Ministry of Culture and Sport of Georgia and Tbilisi Municipality Hall supported an evening at Rustaveli National Theater dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Georgian cinema and theater actor Ia Ninidze.

Tbilisi, Georgia: The Ministry of Culture and Sport of Georgia and Tbilisi Municipality Hall supported an evening at Rustaveli National Theater dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Georgian cinema and theater actor Ia Ninidze.

The Georgian Chamber of Culture also supported the event, and a star named after her was opened in front of the old cinema, “Rustaveli.” The Georgian Minister of Culture and Sports, Thea Tsulukiani, and Deputy Minister Koba Khubunaya attended the event.

The evening, intended to be an artistic spectacle, she presented Ia Ninidze’s life in cinema and theater. Theater expert Nikoloz Tsulukidze hosted the event, introducing the audience to the known and unknown episodes of the actor’s work.

Ia Ninidze’s friends and partners participated in the event: Nanuli Sarajishvili, Lela Alibegashvili, Nana Pachuashvili, Merab Sepashvili, Temur Tatarashvili, Abkhazian Song State Ensemble “Shavnabada” and Mate Martyashvili, Irakli Kvirikadze, Quartet “Forte”; v. Students of Tbilisi State Ballet Art School named after Chabukiani (teacher Keti Mokzelidze).

Prima-ballerina Irma Nioradze, who came to Tbilisi to attend this event, congratulated the actress on the star’s opening and anniversary evening. Maestro Nika Nikvashvili musically shaped the evening.

Ia Ninidze was studying in Tbilisi’s choreographic school. He graduated from the acting faculty of the Union Cinematography Institute in 1981.

From 1981 to 1996, she was an actor at Shota Rustaveli State Academic Theater. Since 1997, she has lived in Moscow and worked in the theater lounge “Ghamura.” In 2000, his theater career was delayed due to a stage injury; however, since 2001, she has played a number of roles in film and television series.

Viewers fell in love with Ia Ninidze in childhood when, 55 years ago, filmmaker Gia Danielia filmed an 8-year-old in the movie “Don’t Worry.” The role of Cicino was his debut. Since then, she has played over 40 outstanding and memorable roles in cinema and stood for 15 years on the Shota Rustaveli State Academic Theater.

Surprisingly, Nikoloz Tsulukidze had hoped that Ia Ninidze would beat this role perfectly, but for him, its depth and diversity were unexpected.” Now that the time has passed and he can look at the film with a stranger’s eye, he is amazed at the organism of this role. He has never been caught in a lie. He thinks that Ia Ninidze is a real tragic actor.
