Europe: The youngsters, who have registered for European Solidarity Corps and are looking to participate in Humanitarian Aid Volunteering, will require to undergo specific training in EU Academy as a prerequisite to their selection into an organization.Â
The following information was publicized by the ‘European Youth’s official account on Facebook. As per the update, the citizens require to meet the following conditions for Volunteering in Humanitarian aid:
1: Citizens must be registered for the European Solidarity Corps Programme
2: Must be interested in Participating in Humanitarian Aid volunteering
3: Age must not exceed 35 years old
4: The citizen must be a resident of an EU Member state or country associated with the programme.
The Humanitarian Aid Volunteers serve the undertakings of the host organizations in distant countries, which might include the tasks such as strengthening the local capacity and disaster resilience for the vulnerable communities like refugees, supporting key sectors like water, sanitation, health and agriculture sector or elimination of social discrimination.
Prior to their selection, the volunteers will be undergoing a mandatory online training course from the EU Academy Platform. The ones succeeding in clearing the test would participate in 5-day face-to-face training that would be provided in groups of 25 candidates.Â
To avail the online training course, one can tap on the ‘Online Training’ tab in the European Solidarity Corps account and select Humanitarian Aid Training. The process will follow with a self-assessment, and on proceeding, the citizens can start the Compulsory Humanitarian training.
The Humanitarian aid volunteering provides an opportunity to make an impact while experiencing new cultures and supporting the ones in need. The number of seats remains limited to one thousand(1000), who will be trained in 2023.
