Flying Humans! Austria organizes first-ever Jetpack Race

In a groundbreaking development, Austria organized the first ever Human Flight- Jetpack Race, in which the participating athletes were seen using baby jet engines for racing in a predefined aerial track.

The Jetpack Race turned out to be the showstopper of the sporting event Austrian Grand Prix as a large number of spectators were left mesmerized with flying humans in the competition.

As per one of the experts, the Jetpacks, which the athletes used during the race, are the mini versions of the engines that are used in jet fighters or airliners.

 

On the back of the jetpack, there are three powerful engines that generate the maximum used for human flight. In addition to this, two engines are also deployed on each arm for enhanced thrust and power generation purposes.

The jetpacks produce a thrust, on which the athletes lean on, and it lifts them from behind. The trigger of the jetpack, which is held in hands, is squeezed, which provides adequate power, which ultimately lifts the athlete up the ground, and all the manoeuvrability comes from steering the thrust.

According to the athletes, flying using jetpacks requires a similar intuitive balance, like while skiing or surfing or riding a bike even.

In case the athlete needs to slow down or stop the suit from flying, one simply needs to point the engines forwards, which will gradually cut down the thrust. Flailing the arms pushes an athlete to sink down to the ground, after which the trigger can be released.

Notably, the jetpacks used in the race can produce 1500 Horsepower, which is nearly 50% more powerful than cars used in the Austrian GP. This makes it possible for the athlete to fly at the desired height. Additionally, the speed can be accelerated up to 50km/h within a second, thus beating the initial launch speed of cars that have to face the traction of the road surface.

The safety of the athletes was well looked after during the event. The spectators also lauded the athletes as well as organizers for the first-of-its-kind race.
