The Prime Minster Irakli Kobakhidze has laid down the foundation stone for Dream city project. The PM together with the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze, participated in the symbolic capsule-throwing ceremony to mark the laying of the foundation stone.
The Head of Government emphasized the special importance of the project and noted that it confirms how much the welfare of citizens is a priority for the government. According to Irakli Kobakhidze, the construction of the “Dream City” is one of the outstanding achievements of the government’s social policy and an unprecedented social project.
PM also underlined that, “The first stage has been successfully completed, three 12-story buildings have been built, where 582 families have already been accommodated and up to 800 children have been given the opportunity to grow up in a healthy and comfortable environment.”
PM also shed light on progress of project and said, “Today we are starting the second stage of this project, which is even more large-scale and ambitious. According to the new plan, 9 multi-apartment residential buildings will be built on an area of 19,407 square meters, in which 1,077 families will receive apartments. The new apartments will be fully equipped with gas supply, water, sewage infrastructure and all necessary services will be provided.”
According to the head of government, the “Dream City” project is not only residential buildings, citizens need a full-fledged living environment and therefore, the new stage also plans to build a school, kindergarten, recreational zones and construction of other infrastructure facilities.
“This project will also make a very significant contribution to the development of Batumi, new residential areas, a school, a kindergarten and other facilities will appear. All this will contribute to the improvement of the city’s infrastructure and of course to the development of the city’s economy, the creation of new jobs” noted Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Prime Minister thanked the authorities of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and everyone who was involved in the successful implementation of the first phase of the project – the project authors and architects, builders, engineers and technical personnel.
The second phase of the construction of the “Dream City” will be completed in 2028 as per construction company.
