Giorgi Amilakhvari, the minister of education, science, and youth of Georgia awarded the 14 projects. These projects were selected under the framework of the “Competitive Innovation Fund”.
Giorgi Amilakhvari took to his social media handles and shared this information in this regard. He stated in a Facebook post “ Today, we awarded 14 winning project representatives under the second grant competition within the “Competitive Innovations Fund” grant program.”
He further stated “ Once again, I would like to emphasize the importance of the mentioned grant program from the point of view of internationalization of education. This fund under the name “Competitive Innovation Fund” provides our universities the opportunity to implement more joint double international degree educational programs with the cooperation of foreign higher educational institutions.”
It is to be added that for the second session, the government has provided a total of 2.2 million USD grants to Georgian universities. Giorgi Amilakhvari expressed hopes that the program is a great opportunity for Georgian universities to get international exposure. He also said that this would be an exceptional opportunity for the student community to have an education at an international university with a high reputation as well.
The event was attended by a significant number of the representatives and were addressed by Giorgi Amilakhvari and other key speakers of the event. Giorgi Amilakhvari encourages the representative of the education sector to avail the maximum benefit under this program. He also advised the attendees to encourage the student community to overcome the challenges to be part of the program.

The facebook users namely Maka Ivanishvili, Dali Areshidze, Lali Khveselidze, and Jujuna Saakashvili while commenting on the post of Giorgi Amilakhvari appreciate the effort of the education ministry and stated that this will upgrade the level of the Georgian education system.
