Georgia: The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China officially signed an agreement on May 28, 2025. The agreement provides cooperation and sharing of best practices for the recognition of qualifications provided in higher education.
Notably, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Aleksandre Tsuladze met with the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of the People’s Republic of China within the framework of the World Digital Education Conference, which was held in Wuhan.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the Signing ceremony on its official Facebook page on May 28, 2025, Wednesday. The Ministry also shared some information along with the glimpses.
According to the information shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that the document was signed by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Alexander Tsuladze, and the Minister of Education of the People’s Republic of China Huai Jinfeng.
The document considers partnership for mutual recognition of diplomas/certificates. This is particularly important in terms of expanding cooperation between the universities of the two countries, implementing student and academic staff exchange programs, and developing other important joint educational projects.
Before signing the contract, an official working meeting was held between both ministers. At the working meeting, the parties discussed prospects for future cooperation. After the discussion session, the memorandum signing ceremony began.
It was noted that in addition to higher education, the expansion of cooperation will also apply to general and professional education.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Baia Kvitsiani, Ambassador of Emergency and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China, Paata Kalandadze and representatives of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Democratic Republic of China.
