Georgia: The Georgian Government’s delegation paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China on November 4, 2025. During the official visit, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, met with the Prime Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of China.

At the end of the meeting, several memorandums were signed in different fields, which will contribute to further deepening trade-economic relations between the countries.

An important meeting was held between the Prime Ministers of Georgia and the People’s Republic of China. Both leaders talked about new goals that would strengthen trade-economic and people-to-people relations between the countries. During the meeting, several important memorandums were signed, including one that will strengthen trade-economic relations between our countries, noted Mariam Kvrivishvili.

Regarding the memorandums signed between the two countries, Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Minister of Trade of the People’s Republic of China Wang Ventao signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the renewal of the free trade agreement between China and Georgia. According to Mariam Kvrivishvili’s assessment, several important points were included in the document.

“In the updated document, special emphasis is placed on the export of agricultural products from Georgia to China.” The investment direction point was also updated in the mentioned document, which will give a significant boost to attract investments from China to Georgia,” the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development noted.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration on the joint development of the “Air Silk Road”.

The document was signed by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, and the Deputy Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Khan Dzuni.

“The aviation agreement will be the most important step forward and will also give an additional tender to direct flights between countries,” said Mariam Kvrivishvili.

According to the assessment of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia will also sign a very important agreement, which will further strengthen the export of Georgian products to the Chinese market.

During the visit to the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Commission for National Development and Reforms of the People’s Democratic Republic of China also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
