The Caucasus University has launched a certificate course on the topic of “fair election”. The course will also cover “Disinformation and propaganda narratives in social media”.
It is to be specifically mentioned that in the past years also the university has launched seminars, courses, and diplomas on different topics. The university also wants to aware the students of current topics of importance as well.
It is to be added the upcoming parliamentary election can be held transparently only if the general public becomes aware of this issue. Notably with the advancement of social media and cyber methods the manipulation of the election process has become very easy. The Georgian government has launched many initiatives to ensure fair and transparent elections as well.
Meanwhile, the University also took to their social media pages and informed in this regard as well. The university stated in a Facebook post that “For Caucasus University students “Fair Elections” a certificate course launched- “Disinformation and propaganda narratives in social media”.
It also stated, “During the course, students will gain a general knowledge of disinformation and propaganda, as well as develop information verification and spot disinformation”.
Moreover “At the end of the course students will present their essays and two of the best students will go through internships in the “Fair Elections” social media monitoring team” the post stated as well.
The university administration also addressed the participating students on this occasion. They stated that the interest shown by the huge number of students shows that the maximum number of people are interested in this program.
The key speakers also said that in the future more such courses will be organised to upgrade the skills of students in different fields. On the other hand, the University Students also expressed their happiness on this occasion.They also thanked the university for the launching of this program and said that this will give them a lot of new things to learn.
