Tbilisi: The officials of the Georgian personal data protection services have attended the “European Business Working Meeting”. This working meeting was held in Tallinn, Estonia.
It is worth to note that official of the service used to participate in many reginal and internation conference. These meeting are attended to uplift the function and working skill of employees of services.
The agency official take to their different social media handles to share the information in this regard. The official Facebook page of services stated, “On December 4-6, 2024 representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service took part in the “European Business Working Meeting”. The event was organized by the Estonian Personal Data Protection Supervisory Authority, held in Tallinn.”
At the same time it stated further that, “The Personal Data Protection Service were represented in this internation conference by the Nino Khubulia – Coordinator of International Relations and Legal Affairs of the Department of International Relations, Analytics and Strategic Development, Irakli Leonidze – Researcher-Analyst of the same Department and Aleksandre Rogava – Legal Issues Specialist of the Head of the Service.”
Notably during the meeting important and problematic issues related to video monitoring, data protection impact assessment, artificial intelligence, comprehensive solutions of supervisory authorities, etc. were discussed. The official of Georgia also shared their own experience to deal with issues of data safety.
The representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service presented a report on the legal and practical cases of the person responsible for the data processing and the person responsible for processing. Moreover “Working Meeting of European Enterprises” was attended by a representative of the Personal Data Protection Supervisory Authority of about 30 countries.
All the key speaker of meeting expressed serious concerns about the data theft. It was unambitiously decided that more legal provisions need to implement for protection of public and private information.
The issues of cybercrime also found special mention during the meeting. This was agreed between all participating countries that in future threat of cybercrime will grow. Moreover, we need to have collective efforts to tackle cyber crime as well.
