Tbilisi, GEORGIA: The Georgian Minister of Education and Science, Mikheil Chkhenkeli Minister of Education and Science, Mikheil Chkhenkeli Minister of Education and Science, Mikheil Chkhenkeli held a working meeting with the Head of the Personal Data Protection Service, Lela Janashvili. During the meeting, the parties discussed the details of existing and a continued future cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Personal Data Protection Service.
According to the Education Minister, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, the human rights and freedoms, including privacy and protection of personal data of individuals, is treated as the top priority for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.Â
Accordingly, when processing the personal data of natural persons, the Ministry strictly controls compliance with current legislation. It ensures that the personal data of the users is processed fairly and within legal means, only with specific, clearly defined legal purposes. The Ministry ensures that these databases are protected from unlawful access and use.Â
As the minister noted, in this direction,the departments of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the organizations under it work in close cooperation with the representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service.
At the same time, the Head of the Personal Data Protection, Lela Janashvili provided Mikheil Chkhenkeli with information about the mission of the Personal Data Protection, function-duties, existing challenges and personal data processing culture.Â
Additionally, the discussions at the meeting also touched on the importance of personal data protection and increasing institutional awareness of the job.
The working meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Head of the Personal Data Protection Service Otar Chakhunashvili.
