The republic of Georgia has got new vice prime minster. Minister Levan Davitashvili have been appointed as new vice prime minister of Georgia.
It is worth to note that Levan Daviashvili is currently head of the Ministry of economy and sustainable development. He is working as minister of the economy and sustainable development.
The decision has been announced in this regard by the administration of the ruling party “Georgian Dream”. The Prime Minister of Georgia appointed him as new vice Prime Minister of Georgia.
It is to be noted that before his appointment the number of the vice-Prime Minister of Georgia was two. However, with new appointment the number of vice Prime Minster has been rises to three.
As per the Prime Minister this appointment of another vice Prime Minster will improve function of Georgian government. He also underlined that new government would make more efforts to improve the transparency in Georgia’s government rules.
On the other hand, Irakli Chikovani, the defence minister also holding the role of a vice prime minster before this appointment of third prime minister of Georgia as well. It is also to be noted that Gomelauri before this appointment also served as the Deputy Interior Minister. His tenure as deputy interior minister was between 2014-2015.
Notably on first month of January 2015. He began his work as the Interior Minister of Georgia. Moreover, in the month of august he took charge a head of SIS, Special Investigation services. The special investigation services is responsible for investigation of the crime as well.
His work as head of special investigation services was great and he helped to solve many big and controversial cases. He worked there as head before returning as the Minister of Internal Affairs in 2019.
The Georgian Dream has come to power once again after October 26 elections. Although the second tenure was very controversial as many opposition parties blamed the party for election fraud also.
