A regional science festival was held at Akaki Tsereteli State University on Tuesday. The Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Zviad Gabisonia, attended the event.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the festival on its official Facebook Page on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The Georgian Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its highlights.
The Deputy Minister spoke about various topics like
- the importance of promoting science,
- engaging young people in research,
- developing the country’s scientific potential.
He noted that the festival offers students the opportunity to learn about various scientific fields, modern research, and innovative activities.
As part of the festival, international scientific conferences and panels for young scientists and doctoral students took place at the university. An open-air “Science City” a scientific, educational, and innovation hub was set up. It main purpose was to showcase the activities of Akaki Tsereteli State University’s faculties, partner organizations, schools, and the private sector.
Participants had the opportunity to attend the “Horizon Europe for Georgia” national office information meeting and a lecture on manuscripts organized by the Korneli Kekelidze National Centre of Manuscripts of Georgia.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony and a musical program. The festival was held with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia. Representatives from various higher education institutions, partner organizations, and general education institutions participated in the event.
The main aims of the festival were:
- to popularize science, technology, and innovation in the regions,
- foster an interest in research among young people,
- to showcase the scientific potential of the country’s regions.
- to strengthen cooperation among universities, schools, research organizations, and the business sector.
