Georgia: Georgia imported 20,108 tons of chocolate and other cocoa-based products worth USD 90 million in January-November 2024.
According to official statistics of Georgia, it was found that the value of imports was increased by 18%, while the volume was increased by 6.6%.
Countries from where Georgia imported chocolates are listed below with their amount and worth in 2024.
The Office of Statistics of Georgia investigated the imports of chocolates and cocoa products in 2024 and they found that, in the previous year, Georgia imported chocolates from a total of 10 Countries. The list of the 10 countries is listed below:
- Georgia imported 8,145 tons of chocolates and cocoa products from Russia which is worth $25.5 million,
- Georgia imported 3,020 tons of chocolates and cocoa products from Ukraine which is worth $14.8 million,
- Georgia imported 2,148 tons of chocolates and cocoa products from Turkey which is worth $11.4 million,
- From Poland, Georgia imported 1,160 tons of cocoa products and chocolates which is worth $6.7 million,
- From Croatia, Georgia imported $6.6 million of chocolates and cocoa products, the volume of which is 1,135 tons;
- Georgia imported 711 tons of chocolates from Belgium which is worth $4 million,
- From Italy, Georgia imported 643 tons of chocolates and cocoa products and it is worth $3.2 million,
- Georgia imported chocolates from Germany also, the volume of which is 573 tons and is worth $3.2 million,
- From Armenia, Georgia imported 533 tons of chocolates and cocoa products worth $3.2 million,
- Georgia imported 528 tons of chocolates from the Netherlands worth $3 million.
From the above statistics, it can be calculated that the maximum amount of chocolate is imported mainly from Russia. From the reports, it was also known that these 10 countries are the main sources from where Chocolates are imported into Georgia.
Georgia also bought small quantities of chocolate and cocoa-containing ready-to-eat products from Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Belarus, Spain, France, the Czech Republic, Turkmenistan, and other countries as well.
Georgia itself is very famous for its chocolates and sweets but still, it imported them from different countries. After various investigations, the possibilities behind these imports are comprehended:
