Georgia hosted a “Merano Wine Festival”, the festival which has been held in Italy since 1992 and is one of the most unique in the world, not only in the field of wine but also in the field of gastronomic products.
The festival organisers and supporters are: the Georgian Wine Association, National Wine Agency, Merano Wine Festival and the online platform Merano Wine Hunter; The partner of the event is “Chateau Mukhrani”.
Yuri Nozadze, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency, attended the festival held at Chateau Mukhrani.
“I am glad that the” Merano Wine Festival “is being held in Georgia. The festival is also interesting because, in addition to wine, gastronomic products are also presented. “The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture welcomes and supports similar initiatives, which makes Georgian wine in general, and pitcher wine in particular, even more popular,” said Yuri Nozadze.
At the Chateau Mukhrani Festival, guests had the opportunity to taste wines and gastronomic products from various companies. About 100 companies were represented at the festival. Within the framework of the event, culinary master classes, seminars, and tasting of Italian and Georgian wines were held.
The award ceremony of the winners of the International Pitcher Wine Competition was held within the framework of the Merano Wine Festival. At the competition, 351 samples from 105 countries were submitted by 105 companies. The jury consisted of the best Georgian and foreign experts from the competition samples.
The International Pitcher Wine Competition was founded in 2017. The competition aims to raise awareness of pitcher wine produced in different countries. By placing Merano Wine Hunter wines on the online platform, the competition will present the best pitcher wines to its customers, thus helping to increase and popularise pitcher wine production.
