Zestafoni, Georgia: The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, opened a metal factory equipped with modern technologies and high-quality equipment on Friday, September 5, 2025.
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia shared the glimpses of the opening ceremony of the new metal factory of “Georgia Metal” Ltd. in Zestafoni, on its Official Facebook page. The Georgian Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
According to the information shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that, along with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze was also present.
According to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the enterprise is a prime example of the country’s economic development, which means promoting private initiatives, increasing access to finance, diversifying export markets, and creating new jobs.
There are more than 400 people employed in the metal plant, the investment is 80 million GEL, and the annual performance will exceed 400 thousand tons of construction materials.
She also noted that this is the volume that will add to their domestic consumer market and reduce the need for imports into the country. Recycling is very important for the development of the country’s economy and job creation. Currently, the sector employs more than 200 thousand people, which constitutes 15% of the total employment.
“It is important that we continue to pursue a consistent policy of economic development in the country, using all necessary tools to promote the implementation of such important projects. The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, with the support of the Prime Minister, continues to work actively in the mentioned way”, – said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
According to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Georgia is distinguished globally with a high economic growth trend – international financial organizations share the forecast expectations of the Georgian government.
According to the Minister, their government will ensure stability and peace in Georgia, as well as strengthen sovereignty, which is a fundamental prerequisite for implementing economic policies focused on human, entrepreneurship, and development of the country.
“This is the policy that will ensure to attract new investments in our country, sustainable economic development, creation of new jobs, and, most importantly, growth of the economic well-being of each of our citizens, society,” added Mariam Kvrivishvili.
