Georgia: PM Kobakhidze congratulates Jews on Hanukkah eve

Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of republic of Georgia extended his best wishes to Jews community on eve on Hanukkah. He also highlights strong and stable relation with Isreal in his congratulatory message.

Prime Minister attended Hanukkah celebration at the Great Synagogue of Tbilisi.  PM in his message to Jews community on this occasion said, “This is special day for Jews community all around the world. I would like to extend my best wishes to Jews people and pray for their success in every field.”

While speaking further PM Kobakhidze also highlighted strong bilateral relations with Isreal. He said, the government and people of Georgia stand with Israel.

As per him the day give us hopes to bring light in our life and also make life of other also better. We all need blessing of goodness on this historic day as well.
PM further said, the Jewish community is facing difficult time nowadays and suffered loss caused by war.

However, he expressed hopes that this difficult time will pass and Jewish people will again win their fight against anti-humanity forces. The Jewish people with their strong will power will soon overcome all challenges.

He said strong and cordial relationship between both countries bound us to play an active role for other in tough time. Similarly, Georgia is committed to extend all kind of support to Isreal as a best friendly nation.

On this special moment Prime Minister Kobakhidze was accompanied by many other dignitaries and leaders of his party. The other includes Mayor of Tbilisi Kakaha Kaladze who is also secretary general of ruling party Georgian Dream, Shalva Papuashvili the speaker of national parliament of Georgia.

The chief rabbi of the Synagogue was also present. PM symbolically lit the first candle of Hanukkah to begin celebration. Notably Hanukkah is also known as festival of lights. The festival is celebrated every year for eight days in months of November or December. The day occupy special significance for Jewish community all over the world.
