Georgia prepares athletes for Youth Olympic Festival in Rustavi

A meeting was held in Rustavi on April 28, with athletes from Lower Georgia participating in the Georgian Youth Olympic Festival. This will promote a healthy lifestyle, Olympism, and sports in the regions, the growth of sportspeople, and the discovery of future Olympians.

The event was attended by: the National Olympic Committee of Georgia, the Ministry of Sport, the Georgian Youth Olympic Festival, SEOK Regional Organization of Lower Kartli, the Heads of Southern Kartli Administration, Olympic champion-prize-winners, athletes of the Lower Kartli region participating in the festival, coaches, and representatives of sports federations.

Heads of sporting organizations and local government officials got acquainted with the pre-festival preparation process and wished the young athletes good luck.

The Georgian Youth Olympic Festival, the final stage of which will be hosted by Batumi on June 2-6, 2026, in 14 sports categories: basketball 3X3 (boys, girls), mini football (boys, girls), and volleyball (boys, girls). Table tennis (boys, girls ), boxing (boys), gymnastics, tennis (boys and girls), swimming (boys and girls), judo (mixed Team), freestyle wrestling, Greek-Roman wrestling, sand wrestling, badminton (boys, girls), Georgian wrestling will be represented.

The final stage was led by regional competitions organized by the National Federation of Children and School Sports and the Sports Federations of Georgia.

The Georgian Youth Olympic Festival is an unprecedented multisport project across the country, which is implemented on the initiative of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia and with the support of the Georgian Government.

Active supporters of the festival are the Georgian Ministry of Sports, Adjara Government, Adjara Ministry of Education and Sports, and Batumi City Hall.

The Georgian Youth Olympic Festival will be held in 17 sports, between 14-17-year-old athletes (about 1200 athletes), with the participation of teams from 12 regions of Georgia. The Olympic Festival will have the winners of individual sports, and the main prize of the festival will be given to the region that shows the best result with the overall score index.
