Tbilisi: The Protected Areas Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia marked its presence at one of the largest international tourist exhibition, ITB Berlin 2023, on behalf of Georgian national parks.
It is noteworthy that protected areas of Georgia, especially the hiking destinations, aroused great interest among the participants of the exhibition, especially in representatives of Germany, France, Spain, Greece, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, USA, with whom the Agency of Protected Areas also exchanged their contact information.
In 2023, Georgia was presented as a host country at the ITB Berlin exhibition and had access to tens of thousands of audiences directly and indirectly involved in the tourism industry.
At the 3-day ITB Berlin 2023 exhibition, the Protected Areas of Georgia presented an ecotouristic and the adventure destination with relevant visual and textual materials.Â
The interested parties had the opportunity to receive extensive information about the diversity and uniqueness of national parks and to get to know Georgia’s unique protected areas through virtual glasses. Many individuals sought the in-depth information about the activities and what more Georgia could provide to the tourists.
Notably, Participation in this exhibition for protected territories of Georgia is very important in terms of entering a new tourist segment and attracting visitors.
Georgian Protected Territories became a part of this important exhibition with the initiative and support of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development National Tourism Administration. It is also noteworthy that about 80 private and state organizations from Georgia took part in this three-day exhibition in Berlin.
