Georgia: Based on information spread on social networks, 3 violations of the legal proceedings initiated by the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture have been identified by the Environmental Supervisory Department of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.
The Environmental Supervision Department of Georgia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook page on March 27, 2026, Friday. The Department also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
Employees of the Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti Regional Authority of the Department have compiled 3 decrees against the fish and seafood processing enterprise: under Article 34 of the Code of Waste Management – Pollution of the environment with animal blood produced as a result of industrial activity; Under Article 58 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, under Article 1 – Pollution of water facilities/from Delay and 82 Prima of the Code of Administrative Offenses Under the first part of article 2 – Violation of technical regulations requirements for extracting water from surface water facilities.
Materials, for further consideration, will be handed over to the Poti District Court. A video showing how polluted water flows into the sea went viral on a social network on March 26. Employees of the Environmental Supervision Department were immediately on the spot and reacted accordingly.
During inspection, it was determined that fish obtained from Seiners in special cars under the right license was being transported by the Fish and Seafood Processing Company at the boatyard, at which time it was detected that the fish obtained from the land to the sea avacatoria was discharging.
