Georgia: Prosecutor General of Georgia, Giorgi Gvarakidze met with the Prosecutor General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saud Abdullah M. Al-Sharif. The meeting took place on September 11, 2025 during Gvarakidze’s visit to the Republic of Singapore for the 30th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).
A bilateral meeting was held between the delegates to improve security between the two nations. At the meeting, the parties discussed legal relations between the two countries and expressed their willingness to deepen future cooperation.
The bilateral meeting was attended by Deputy Prosecutor General, Amiran Guluashvili; Head of the Legal Support and International Relations Department of the Prosecutor General of Georgia, Giorgi Mikava; Acting Head of Administration, Bidzina Kumsiashvili.
Representatives of the Prosecutor General of Saudi Arabia were also in attendance including – Head of the International Cooperation Department, Issam Ibrahim Alosaimi; Head of the Legal Support Department; Saud Obaid bin Libdahi; Head of the Procedural Supervision Department for the Investigation of Crimes Committed in the Tourism Sector, Abdulaziz Fahad Alqorouni; and Head of the International Relations Department, Haifa Abdulaziz Alefan.
The Prosecution Service of Georgia also shared the glimpses and details of the meeting on their official Facebook account today, September 11. Locals are supporting the prosecutor of Georgia and his efforts to improve the country in terms of security and legislature.
One of the citizens of Georgia said, “Georgia has the best Prosecutor General I believe the future of our country will change radically.”
Bilateral relations between Georgia and Saudi Arabia
Moreover, the two nations signed a Double Taxation Avoidance Convention treaty on income and profit in 2018. This structure helps reduce tax burdens on investors and encourages cross-border investment.
In addition, Georgia has aligned its veterinary and product control systems, so that Saudi Arabia can export plant and animal products. Also, several deals were signed for sectors like water, solar, energy, culture exchange, and capacity building during the Georgia-Saudi Forum in Tbilisi in February 2024.
