Georgia: The International Wine and Spirits Exhibition “Interwine China 2025” was held in Guangzhou, the city of the People’s Republic of China with the support of the National Wine Agency and organized by the agency’s contractor company “Bogvi International Trading Company Ltd.”
It featured wines from eight Georgian companies while wine production from 53 countries of the world were presented at the Interwine China 2025 exhibition this year. With the support of the National Wine Agency, this year Georgian wine from People’s Republic of China – “Fine Wine Hotel Exhibition”, “The China Food & Drinks Fair“ and, “RAW Wine Shanghai,” were represented.
This event is one of China’s largest alcohol exhibitions, which has been held since 2005, twice a year, in spring and autumn. During the event, over 500 producers from all over the world attend with thousands of guests including wine buyers, distributors, restaurant owners and hotel chain representatives also being present.
Expanding Georgian Wine’s Global Reach
Georgia’s display of wines in Interview China 2025 was a part of its ongoing effort to grow its wine export market in Asia. China has been a very important market for Georgian wine. Since 2013, Georgia has put in place an aggressive marketing campaign in an attempt to increase the awareness and growth of their wine exports in the market.
According to recent numbers which report on the performance from January to April 2025, Georgia put out to China 1.12 million liters of wine that is a 78% increase from the prior year at this time. That’s a sign of the success of their marketing efforts as well as an increasing trend of interest in Georgian wine from the Chinese market.
It is also reported that this year, Georgian wine was also presented at the Fine Wine Hotel Exhibition, The China Food Drinks Fair, and RAW Wine Shanghai. At these events Georgian producers had a chance to reach out to Chinese partners and put forward their wine in many different settings.
