Georgia: The Minister of Sports attended the closing ceremony of the EHF European Championship of male handball players under 18 years.
The Ministry of Sports of Georgia shared glimpses of the closing ceremony on its official Facebook Page on August 9, 2026, Sunday. The Georgian Sports Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
Men’s 18 EHF Championship II 2026 European Championship of male handball players under 18 years was held in Telavi. The official closing ceremony of the championship was attended by Georgian Sports Minister Shalva Gogoladze, State Trustee in Kakheti Platon Kalmakhelidze, First Deputy Minister Irakli Medzmariashvili, President of the Handball Federation Vakhtang Meifariani, and other guests.
Under-18-year-old male handball players EHF (Men’s 18 EHF Championship II 2026) during the final match of thei European Championshp, the Georgian team faced the Bulgarian team. The match ended with the victory of the opponent, with a score of 35:28. The Georgian team moved to the first division of the EHF European Championship of under-18-year-old male handball players.
Nikoloz Mamulashvili was named the best player of the match for the Georgian team, an award presented by Shalva Gogoladze.
On the first competition day of the tournament, Georgian team faced Great Britain team and defeated with a score of 31:24, in the second match against Bulgaria team won with a score of 35:32, in the third match defeated Cyprus team with a score of 29:19, and the fourth victory against Kosovo team in which they beat the opponent with 35:30 score.
In the EHF Championship of boys under 18 years old, except Georgia, teams from Belgium, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Kosovo and Cyprus participated. The Continental Championship was held from August 2 to August 9 in Telavi Sports Palace.
