A sporting event called “Urbanest” is being for the first time in Georgia. This is being organized with the help of the Georgian Ministry of Sports.
There were some event that took place at Mamaeni Garden on two days April 20 and 21, 2024 which included a variety of sports under the different categories. These events include the following games:-
1. football
2. basketball
3. table tennis
4. skateboard
5. roller coaster ride
6. BMX bike
7. field hockey
Besides the sports event an additional space was also arranged for food kiosks as well as the exhibition cum sale of the handicrafts items. The event had something special for people of all ages including small kids. They enjoyed several activities here.
The fest was attended by Giorgi Arabuli, Deputy Head of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. It is to be specifically mentioned that the urbanest is on the most popular sports event of the world. The event is held usually across the different cities of the world . The urbanest have the aim to promote urban sports as well as to encourage people to adopt healthy lifestyles to lead a good life.
The Urbanfest at Georgia also has the support of the Tbilisi city hall and the cultural center of Georgia. At the space for the sale of handicrafts, there were many mini hut-like kiosks to sell traditional and handcrafted materials to visitors.
The participating people showed huge interest in the handcrafted local Georgian products. Similarly many groups of young people took selfies to capture this occasion as a lifelong memory.
The winner of the competition will be awarded with the medals, Trophies and souvenirs. Moreover the closing ceremony of the event and awards will be held on April 26 at Club Mono Hall. The festival will be concluded with the electrifying performance of the world-renowned French music artist Feder who is visiting Georgia for the first time.
