The information and education center of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture has announced the winner of the Agroleague 2024 competition. Almost three hundred students participated in this competition. The jury members selected the 18 winners and runners-up out of the total 300 participants.
It is to be noted that the “Agroleague” competition aims to spread professional knowledge in the agrarian sector and promote the development of agrarian and environmental educational fields. It also aimed to make professional knowledge available to students and present successful students with awards.
At the same time it is worth mentioning that this is the second time the competition has been held and covered the directions of plant protection, beekeeping, forestry, fruit growing, ecology, and biodiversity.
The award to the winner also included gift vouchers and certificates. This certificate and gift voucher to the winner was awared by Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Lela Mamrikishvili, National Program Officer of the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC), and Giorgi Nanobashvili, Head of the Economic Development Division of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The Agricultural Development Association (ADA) in partnership with the Center for Environmental Information and Education is the author and implementer of the competition and award ceremony. The competition used to be supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). It took place under the framework of the current project “Modernization of the Vocational Education System in Georgian Agriculture.”
On the occasion of the accreditation ceremony a presentation was given to apprise the attendees about the various aspects of the agriculture field. The presentation also included information on how to implement the latest technology in the field so that the cost of the production can be reduced significantly.
The key speaker extended the best wishes to the competition winners. They also motivate them to contribute to the development of the country’s agriculture sector with the help of their existing knowledge.
