Daily COVID-19 Updates: Georgia reports 222 new cases, one death

Georgia: The Health Ministry of Georgia said that the country has reported 222 new cases of COVID-19, with 346 recoveries and one fatality in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past week stands at 1.34 per cent.

Georgia: The Health Ministry of Georgia said that the country has reported 222 new cases of COVID-19, with 346 recoveries and one fatality in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past week stands at 1.34 per cent.

There are currently 2,430 active cases of Coronavirus all over the country.

Moreover, as per the figures given by the Georgian health department, a total of 22,703 tests were conducted throughout the country within the last 24 hours, out of which 20,791 were rapid antigen tests, and the remaining 1,912 were PCR tests.

Since February 26, 2020, the country has recorded a total of 1,652,929 cases of Coronavirus. Out of which, 1,633,684 patients have recovered, while 16,789 people have succumbed to it.

The new 222 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in several parts of the country. 

  • Tbilisi – 119 cases 
  • Adjara – 5 cases 
  • Imereti – 27 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli – 13 cases 
  • Shida Kartli – 15 cases 
  • Guria – 14 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 8 cases 
  • Kakheti – 14 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 0 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti – 3 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 4 cases

As of today, around 33.9% of the population of Georgia has been fully vaccinated, accounting for 12.6 L individuals. The country has administered approximately 29.5 L doses of anti-coronavirus vaccines.
