Tbilisi: The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Zakir Hasanov. The sides discussed the strategic partnership between the two countries and the agenda for future cooperation.
In October this year, pay attention to the visit of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to Georgia. According to the government chief, the visit once again underlined good, friendly relations between the countries and the enormous potential, including for trade-economic directions.
The talk touched on the importance of ensuring peace and stability for the welfare of the people and the development of the region. The Prime Minister once again noted that Georgia is ready, in the future, in all possible ways, to promote dialogue between the two neighbouring countries.
Pay attention to the “South Caucasus Neighborhood Peaceful Initiative”, initiated by Irakli Gharibashvili, in which international partners are involved, along with the South Caucasus states.
The head of government thanked the Azerbaijani side for their firm support of the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The parties reviewed cooperation between sector agencies and infrastructure projects of regional importance.
It is noted that 2022 is a jubilee date as 30 years of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan are completed.
Guests of the meeting held in the government administration: Ambassador of Emergency and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliev and Deputy Head of the Medical Department Elhan Ibrahimov, and Minister of Defense of Georgia Ri Juncher Burchuladze were present.
