Mikheil Chkhenkeli congratulates Georgian scientist Ivane Kiguradze on 86th birthday

Tbilisi: The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, congratulated the outstanding Georgian scientist and academician Ivane Kiguradze on the event of his 86th birthday.

Tbilisi: The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, congratulated the outstanding Georgian scientist and academician Ivane Kiguradze on the event of his 86th birthday.

In the congratulatory message, the Georgian Education Minister Chkhenkeli wrote: “Mr Ivane, I congratulate you with all my heart on your 86th anniversary!”

The contribution you are contributing to the development of science through your noble profession is truly invaluable.

It is your merit that today we have many valuable works in the research of differential equations and borderline tasks, which I believe will raise another generation of renowned scientists.

I especially want to highlight your role in the development of the Andria Razmadze Institute of Mathematics. You have really done a great job during the period of directory of the institute.

Once again, I congratulate you on your anniversary. I wish you health and courage for the good of our country and people.

Ivane Kiguradze completed his higher education at Tbilisi State University from 1955-1960, followed by post-graduate between 1960-1963.

In the same year, 1963, Kiguradze became the Candidate in Mathematics and the Doctor of Science(Physics and Maths) in 1972.

 He further served as a professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. In 1979, he became a Corresponding member of the Georgian Academy of Sciences and has been serving as the ‘Academician’ in The Georgian Academy of Sciences.

On the professional front, Kiguradze began as Lecturer at Chair of Differential and Integral equations from 1963-1966. He worked as Senior Researcher for seven years between 1966-1973 at the I. Vekua Institute of Applied Mathematics at Tbilisi State University. 

From 1973-1989, he served as Head of the department for Ordinary Differential equations at I. Vekua Institute of Applied Mathematics and as a Full professor till 2005 and visiting professor at Tbilisi State University.

Meanwhile, from 1989-2006, Kiguradze held the director’s post for the A. Razmadze Mathematical Institute of Georgian Academy of Sciences. 

Kiguradze is currently working as Cheif Researcher at A. Razmadze Mathematical Institute and HOD of Differential Equations.
