Tbilisi: The Georgian Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, attended the opening event of the international exhibition of food, agriculture and horticulture, “Gruene Woche 2023”, in Berlin. The main goal of the exhibition “Green Week” is to promote the development of modern agriculture, processing and horticulture sectors.
With the support of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, 16 companies presented their products at the Georgian stand. The majority of Georgian companies participating in the exhibition are beneficiaries of state programs.
Georgian entrepreneurs introduced Georgian wine and alcoholic beverages, natural juices, honey and many other Georgian products to visitors from different countries of the world. It is noteworthy that Georgian products fully meet EU standards.
“I want to emphasize that establishment of Georgian products in international markets is a priority of our politics. Therefore, we increase the budget for the promotion campaign step by step, cooperating with high-end international marketing companies, by which we promote our entrepreneurs to present their products at all the important exhibitions in Europe, America, Japan, China, and Saudi Arabia.”
The goal is to increase the awareness of Georgian agricultural products in the world market, to make them in demand, which will make it possible for a steady growth of export rates,” Otar Shamugia said.
Otar Shamugia hosted ministers of agriculture from different countries at the Georgian stand. Meetings were held with German Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Jem Osdemir, Berlin Mayor Francisca Giffy, European Commissioner for Agriculture Janush Vocziechovsky, as well as Lithuanian, Latvian, Turkish, Polish, Hungarian and Uzbek colleagues.
The National Tourism Administration of Georgia participates in the exhibition “Green Week 2023”, which introduces visitors to Georgia’s tourist potential, products and destinations.
Berlin international exhibition “Gruene Woche 2023” has been held every year since 1926. More than 1400 companies from 72 countries participated in the exhibition this year, and the number of visitors exceeds 400,000.
