Telavi: A training session was organised by the National Bank of Georgia on December 2, 2023. This was held under the theme of “Guide for Financial Independence of Women” at Telavi City. It was aimed to make women aware of Financial independence.
The other partner organisations of this seminar were FinEdu and Sparkasse(A German Foundation). As it was held to make the women aware of various measures for financial independence, many women took part in this session. Training also has the objective of empowering the women of the region to gain self-confidence.
The three main topics on which the discussion was held included:
1. Women in the initial phase of their career
2. Proper budgeting
3. Different ways of saving
There were mini-lectures on each above-mentioned topic coupled with practical activities.
As per the representatives of the National Bank of Georgia, the spreading of financial education among women is the top agenda of the National Bank of Georgia. They also added that FinEdu would continue its activities for the financial independence of women by spreading awareness through seminars, meetings, conferences, etc.
The first topic of the meeting is the initial stage of a career. It was discussed that many women face huge difficulties when they begin their new beginning as working women. The key speakers of the occasion and participants said that the support of family members is necessary for the full-fledged career growth of women.
On the second topic of proper budgeting, it was realised that there is a need to enhance the coordination and cooperation among all working members of the family. Only with due deliberation and discussion with other members of the family can women can be able to make the proper budgeting for the family.
The role of women was emphasised by all the attendees to make the savings possible. Saving was highlighted as a type of security for women in difficult times.
At the end of the training session, all the participants got a certificate of attendance at the event. As per the information shared by FinEdu(Georgian Education Web portal) the next session of the training will be held in Gori City. They also advised people to visit their Gori Session after due registration.
At the same time, many social media users also appreciated this noble initiatives of the ministry. Notably, in the past years we, the National Bank Of Georgia successfully organised many of these types of events. They also hold many training sessions to give practical training to women.
