Georgia: Tbilisi City Hall has announced that the movement of vehicles on Freedom Square, in front of the City Hall, will be temporarily restricted due to the preparation of the festive event. The restriction will last from December 13, 20:00, to December 15, 21:00.
According to the City Hall, cars will no longer be able to move from Rustaveli Avenue to Alexander Pushkin Street using the circle at Freedom Square.
Instead, they must use alternative routes, such as Giorgi Leonidze Street, Ivane Machabeli Street, Lado Asatiani Street, and Shalva Dadiani Street.
Cars can also move from Alexander Pushkin Street only in the direction of Rustaveli Avenue and Giorgi Leonidze Street. In contrast, vehicles from Kote Abkhazia and Shalva Dadiani Street will be able to drive in the direction of Alexander Pushkin Street, Rustaveli Avenue, and Gorgi Leonidze Street.
The public transport movement scheme will also change during the restriction period. Buses on N316, N324, N364, N374, N380, N382, N383, N390 can move to and from Ascension Street.
Buses carrying from Melikishvili Avenue to Baratashvili Street, N301, N306, N310, N314, N326, N331, N337, N342, N345, N352, N358, N359, N388, N397 will be able to move from Kostava Street to Olive Tree on Rustaveli Avenue, after which they will move to Mikheil Javakhishvili Street and will connect to Baratashveli Street through the right bank of Mtkvari.
In the wrong direction, N306, N310, N314, N326, N342, N352, N358, N359, N388, and N397 buses will cross to the left bank of Mtkvari; they will connect to Baratashvili Bridge via the Baratashvila ramp, after that they will connect to Kostava Street via the right bank of Mtkivari and Mikheil Javakhishvili Street and will continue the movement according to the established scheme.
Buses moving on routes N301,331, N337, and N345 will pass from Baratashvili Bridge to the House of Justice. They will move through the right bank of Mtkvari and Mikheil Javakhishvili streets, after which they will move from Kostava Street according to the established scheme.
N305, N309, N325, N344, N350, N359, N371, and N393 buses to reach the last stop on Baratashvili Street; instead of Freedom Square, they will turn to the beginning of Pushkin Street and go to Konki side.
Buses running on routes N320,323,395 will not depart from Baratashvili Street to Rustaveli Avenue and return to the beginning of Pushkin Street, after which they will cross to the left bank, where they will connect to Khetagurovi Street.
After this, buses running on routes N323 and N395 can move from Chikobawa Street according to the established scheme. Buses on the N320 route will connect to Saarbruken Square, after which they will run according to the selected scheme.
The City Hall has asked the drivers and passengers to consider the traffic changes and plan their routes accordingly. The festive event that will take place on Freedom Square has yet to be revealed, but it is expected to be related to the upcoming New Year celebrations.
Freedom Square and the adjacent Rustaveli Avenue are the focal points of festivities in the capital city.
