Days of Georgia in Japan ends successfully

One of the central Yoyogi Park on June 15-16 in Tokyo, organized by the initiative and organization of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, “Days of Georgia in Japan” was completed after hosting many guests.

These programs are about establishing cultural and sporting connections between our two countries and fostering a sense of shared understanding and appreciation. They serve as a platform to introduce the rich Georgian culture and sports traditions to our Japanese friends and the Georgians living in Japan, creating a bond that transcends borders.

On the first day, a variety of cultural and sporting events attracted the interest of the locals and, for two days, the attention of many people.

During the days of Georgia in Japan, concerts of Georgian folk song state academic ensemble, “Basiani,” Kutaisi chamber choir named after Ioseb Kechakmadze, Kutaisi song and dance state academic ensemble, as well as ethnojazzband “Iriaosa” and Neka Sebiskveradze were held; Pantomime state theater showed the audience performance – “You are a vineyard,” “Vepkhiskjaosani” and Other”; Organized the works of Georgian retsvi masters Exhibition-sale (enankari, goldsmithing, teak, batika, blue tables, papakhs, Khevsuri embroidery and more. ); Competitions were held in arm wrestling, karate and khridol; World and European champion, famous Georgian arm wrestler Levan Saginashvili, famous Georgian athlete Konstantine Janashia, two-time world champion in karate Gogita Arkania, participated in sports activities. Guests had the opportunity to meet them as well.

Famous Georgian sumoist Levan Gorgadze (Tochinoshin) was also present in Japan to participate in the events.

During the Georgia Days, concerts of Georgian folk ensembles “Japanese,” “Saphirons,” and “Amphora” were also held in Japan; Melita Lomadze’s studio “Melita Dance Studio” performance was held; Japanese athletes also performed in front of the guests. Attendance at the events was free for everyone.
