Georgian Culture Minister Thea Tsulukiani receives Order of Pléiade

Tbilisi: The Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, Thea Tsulukiani was presented the Order of Francophonie and Intercultural Dialogue "Pléiade during the annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie on July 7 by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie Francis Drouin.

Tbilisi: The Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, Thea Tsulukiani was presented the Order of Pléiade – Francophonie and Intercultural Dialogue during the annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie on July 7 by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie Francis Drouin.

The Vice Prime Minister, Levan Davitashvili , the head of the Georgian parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, Davit Songhulashvili and the meritorious professor, Mzago Dokhturishvili were also presented with the order.

Notably, on July 6, the Order of Pleiade was awarded to Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili.

The Pleiade, the Order of Francophonie and Intercultural Dialogue, was established at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on April 30, 1976, during the Seventh Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF).

It is noteworthy that the award of international scale aims to celebrate the merits of those individuals who have distinguished themselves in the service of the ideals of Francophonie.

Many people in the world have already been awarded with this order. Among them were heads of states, political figures, writers, scientists, and representatives of civil society, culture and sports. “Pléiade” is the only order and prestigious international award given by the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie.

The seal of the order repeats the words of the former parliamentarian, former President of the Republic of Senegal, linguist and poet, member of the French Academy, Léopold Sedar Senghor: “The words of the French language shine a thousand times like the stars of the Pleiades.”
