The Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, took part in the graduation event of 2026 graduates of Tbilisi State University named after Ivane Javakhishvili.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the event on its official Facebook Page on July 18, 2026, Saturday. The Georgia Education Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
The minister and the rector of Tbilisi State University, academician Jaba Samushia, congratulated the graduates on the completion of their studies and wished them success.
The Education Minister of Georgia noted, “The event of 2026 graduates is special – this year we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the great Ivane Javakhishvili and the 1700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion.”
According to him, now every graduate is rejoicing, but no less joy is in the heart of every professor-teacher who devoted all their efforts to impart knowledge to the youth.
“I would like to address young people – have faith in your abilities and remember, the success of every one of you is, first and foremost, the pride and success of our country. I believe in your knowledge and professionalism. Repeatedly mention your family, teachers, and our beloved homeland! “, – said Givi Mikanadze.
Successful graduates of all seven faculties of the undergraduate and master’s degree programs were awarded at the event. They were given birth stamps and commemorative gifts.
During the event, the chapel of Tbilisi State University performed the national anthem of Georgia, while professors and administration staff performed the student anthem – “Gaudemus”. At the end of the graduation event, a 3D projection was organized on the university facade.
Tbilisi State University (TSU) has 3298 graduates this year. In the 2026-2027 academic year, the university will accept more than 8600 freshmen for bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
