Georgia: The employees of the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia identified 794 violations of non-compliance with the established norms of the emission of motor vehicles from November 01 to November 30, 2025.
All this was done in the framework of the fight against atmospheric air pollution. 556 violations have been reported in Tbilisi, 111 in Batumi, 86 in Kutaisi, and 41 in Rustavi.
Out of 794 facts, 706 were committed by natural persons, and in 88 cases, department employees fined legal entities. It should be noted that 401 violations were committed by light cars, 359 by minibuses, 26 by trucks, 1 by a bus, and 1 by an excavator driver/owner.
Regarding annual statistics, 5291 violations have been reported in 11 months of 2025.
Since the law was enacted until November 2024, a total of 8216 individuals and legal persons have been fined by the department’s moving crews for non-compliance with the norm for emission of vehicles.
For non-compliance with the norm established by the law of exhaustion of motor vehicles, in the case of a natural person, the amount of fine is 100 GEL on the first time, 300 GEL on the second time, and 600 GEL on the third time.
In the case of a legal person, the fine is 500, 1500, and 3000 GEL. In case of paying the fine within 10 days, the amount of the fine will be reduced by 20% for violators.

To improve air quality and minimize pollution from the transport sector, department inspectors daily conduct vehicle emission inspections on roads in the country’s four major cities.
The process of strengthening the capacities of the department in this direction is underway step by step. Recently, the number of crews has increased, which is important to increase the efficiency of emissions control.
