Georgia: The Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, held an introductory meeting with the Regional Manager of the International Finance Corporation in the South Caucasus, Ivana Fernandez Duarte.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Finance Ekaterine Guntsadze and Representative of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Georgia Tea Gigiberia.
The parties praised the cooperation between Georgia and the International Finance Corporation and reviewed ongoing IFC-funded projects in the country – in the financial sector, agriculture, energy, healthcare, infrastructure and manufacturing.
In particular, the role of the International Finance Corporation in the development of the private sector was emphasized.
The meeting reviewed the current macroeconomic parameters of the country, and the trends of economic recovery, especially in the light of the ongoing hostilities in Russia as a result of the Russian aggression.
It was noted that despite the pandemic, the country has been able to maintain its reform agenda, and this process will continue.
The Minister of Finance wished the new regional manager of the International Finance Corporation success in his work and expressed hope that the cooperation between the parties will develop in a positive direction.
