Irakli Nadareishvili, Georgia’s deputy minister of economy and sustainable development  visited the China International Import Exhibition. This event has been going on since November 5 and will end on November 10.

It is worth noting that during his visit, Minster highlighted his government’s policy for export promotion and explained the measures he will take to increase exports in the future.

While speaking specifically, he added that “Export promotion is one of the priority areas of our country’s economic policy, as official statistics show. Last year, more than 6 billion dollars of products were exported from Georgia, which is a record figure. A similar trend was maintained in the three quarters of 2024.”

He visited the Georgian pavilions at the China International Import Exhibition in Shanghai and talked to the representatives of the companies participating in the exhibition. A large number of people turned to the Georgian pavilion.

It is worth noting that Georgia is participating in the China International Import Exhibition the largest event of a similar profile in the world for the seventh time in a row.

According to Irakli Nadareishvili, China is an important trade and economic partner of Georgia. Therefore the Shanghai exhibition is a good opportunity for both experienced and novice exporters to present their products at such a large-scale exhibition and to establish business contacts with potential partners.

According to him, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia is taking steps to strengthen the “Make in Georgia” agency.

The agency provides Georgian exporters with a number of promotional programs in various exhibitions and other types of events including participation. It also allows local exporters to participate in up to 20 international exhibitions annually.

Approximately 40 Georgian companies are participating in the Shanghai exhibition with the support of the “Make in Georgia” agency. They produce food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, light industry leather and accessories, etc.

Georgia has three pavilions at the Shanghai exhibition this year. In addition to the pavilions of Georgian companies visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to get acquainted with the country’s pavilion, where they will get information about Georgia’s culture and traditions, tourist attractions, important economic achievements and investment and business environment.

Visitors can also learn about Georgia’s diverse history and culture, its unique script and the centuries-old traditions of wine production here. This year, more than 120 countries will participate in the 2024 exhibition in China, which organizers expect will attract more than 500,000 visitors and buyers.
